OEM Developers Kit

This software provides compiled driver functions for the control of Ames Photonics linear array detectors and examples in C++ and VB of typical control programs. The program was developed to support OEMs who want to use Ames Photonics linear CCDs but have their own analysis and control programs, and so do not need to utilise Ames Photonics software platforms.

Introduction

The OEM development Kit allows custom acquisition control routines to be developed under Windows 2000/XP for all Ames Photonics linear array detectors with USB or PCI interfaces.

Description

This kit supports the development of custom control, acquisition and/or analysis programs for any Ames Photonics linear array detector with appropriate interface. The custom program can be written on C++ or VB.

Due to the multilayer approach of the development system it is also possible to develop applications using other languages and platforms.

The only requirement is that the platform has to be a standard 32-bit Windows application and can call external dlls. Optionally, to synchronize application routines with data acquisition, an application has to support standard Windows messaging. If the application does not support Windows messaging (for example an application developed in Visual Basic 6 or earlier version) there is an alternative way of synchronization based on a polling method. The Windows messaging algorithm is the preferred method.

The package includes:

• A dynamic link library (DLL) to configure/control linear detectors, low level device drivers for USB and PCI card/modules.
• Full source code of standalone demo application written in VC++ ver 6, Visual Basic ver.6, VB.NET and a set of plug-ins applications developed in Spectra-ScriptTM scripting language for Spectra-SolveTM advanced scientific software platform.

• Supports Windows standard messaging mechanism allowing effective synchronization between an application and low-level device drivers.
